German giant Dortmund reached the final after 11 years

Sports Desk:  Kylian Mbappé is expected to leave PSG at the end of this season. As a result, the French forward had the last chance to win the Champions League for the Parisians. But Borussia Dortmund did not let that happen. The German giants reached the final after 11 years with a great victory.

Dortmund was already somewhat relieved after winning the first leg of the semi-final 1-0. If they could keep the goal difference, they would have. However, the German club confirmed the final by winning the return leg by the same margin. Their victory in two legs was 2-0. Matt Hummels scored the only goal.

PSG couldn't break through Dortmund's defense last night at their home ground, Park the Princes. On the other hand, Dortmund succeeded in preventing PSG's attack with a tight defense. They took advantage of the opportunities at the beginning of the second half. And the team reached the final of the European Championship for the first time after 2012-13.  

Despite the presence and massive support of the host audience, Mbappe could not match himself in this match. His inability to shine in what could be the last Champions League match in PSG's jersey has also hurt the team. However, it became impossible for all of PSG to break the solid defense of Dortmund. The first half saw no attack to speak of.

However, at the beginning of the second half, PSG caught Dortmund. They also got a few chances. In between, Zaire Emery's shot hit the post and they had to sink into despair. Three minutes later, Hummels headed the ball into the net after jumping on Julian Brandt's corner. A stunned silence descended on the hosts' gallery.

After falling behind, however, PSG tried to return to the match. Chances come a few times. But every time bad luck accompanies them. In the 61st minute, Nuno Mende's powerful shot from outside the box went off the side post. In the end, Luis Enrique's team left the field disappointed when Mbappe and Vitinha's two attempts hit the post.
